Black Ratsnakes vs. Central Ratsnakes

stewart_stick Mar 02, 2004 03:13 PM

I recently learned that Black Ratsnakes (Elaphe o. obosleta)in Ontario and other parts of their range in the U.S. are now considered to be Central Ratsnakes (Elaphe spiloides). Does anyone have any more info on this split and what the range of them is?

If you e-mail me, I can send you information that you are asking about, and some papers that argue against the method being used. I was able to find this info through a Google search.
