It is still a very irresponsible act and shows an utter disregard for what this animal represents.....even a bite from a "venomoid" gaboon is not something you will soon forget. Yes, this is a beautiful snake, I won't argue that, but the manner in which it was being handled (venomoid or not) shows that some folks probably shouldn't own venomous reptiles. Just my .02.

Huh....interesting responses, and not what I expected. This was a venemoid. It was handled by the keeper at NERD when I went up there to visit recently. IMO, they are extremely responsible.
No matter, my post was to show the beauty of the snake itself. It also feels really cool.

It is a nice snake, but by making it venomoid it loses a lot of its beauty....

As long as proper anethesia and tools are used, I don't see much harm getting one for education purposes... but other than that, it can be very harmful to the animal.
