I couldn't agree more Greg. I have said it many, many times; if you don't want a venomous snake, don't get one. It's that simple. Even for educational purposes, it is IMO, way more valuable for people to see the proper handling of these animals. I have nothing but pitty and compassion for venomiod snakes.

I agree completly. I have 8 young Gabbies right now and have had some nice adults. I love the way a nice healthy Gab looks. I had a female that her head measured 5" across and she was nice and pretty. Here's a pic of her. The say they do it for educational purposes. Well educate them on how to handle it the right way. You get a venomoid up there and show kid's how your just holding it and your pretty much telling them go out and pick up a venomous snake.

Gabbies are so sweet when unaltered..

Those are some pretty gaboons...... I like the first one with all that yellowish olive coloration on the the dorsal...... That pair of gaboons I posted are both over 5ft and pump out some great looking babies......
The two adults were captive bred my me...... I also have another pair I bought from some guy in florida that are very similar to this pair...... Around the same size too..... I have a few puffs and rhinos also......
I think it is such a huge differance in the look of the snake when it is altered..... It takes alot away from the snakes look....... I had a resued viod gabby once but it died..... I had a necro done on it and there was nothing found......
All I can say is that it was deficating partialy digested mice..... Maybe the lack of venom caused this to happen???? Who knows.....
There needs to be more studies done on the effects of this "operation" especially when it comes to viperids that have highly necrotic venom..... Its just a thought..... Thanks for the replies guys......

yeah venomoids are a total waste of a great snake. I was looking at you photo's and you have soem really nice gabbies. I have had alot of Hot's and so far Gabbbies are my favorite. Even had Rhino's and still like gaboons better. I had gotten a Venomoid Blackneck Spitter in a trade about 2 years ago. She was pretty but I got rid of her fast. I still treated her just like she was hot except for the eye sheild I never wore it with her. Here is a link to some of my pic's. I haven't updated in over a year.
