I resently found what has to be the most beatiful Lacertid at my local pet store. It's a small animal, with a aqua-blueish green body covered in numerous wavy, dark blue-black "tiger-stripes". Snout-to-vent length about 2.4 inches, tail is a little longer than that in total length. The animal is fast and mostly terrestrial, but climbs to bask. I have it in a ten gallon tank under a 50 watt spotlight and a 15 watt Reptisun with light timer. Substrate is a sand/soil mix. The animal has driftwoods climbing branhces and a clay pot to hide under. Eats crickets. DOES NOT LIKE TO BE HANDLED.
The animal looks like a young Podarcis of some kind. Any ideas? I've tried to find a pic, but no dice. I don't have a digital camera.
