All right complicated story. I was lizard sitting my brothers G. major, while they got moved into Houston. However, his cage got broken in the move; completly destroyed. Now, I have a small sav monitor in a large (5X3X3) cage; he's about 30" all told, the G. major is about 20. He's really big. I know they're both parasite free, as I got the sav from Pro Exotics years ago, and my brother got his lizard from a decent shop. Fecals came back clean and all, and he's not been exposed to parasites since. Given that both are large diurnal desert lizards, there are similarites in care. I was wondering about housing them together temporarily. I know it's not great but the alternitive is a spare 20 long that I've got. This will probably be for about a month or so. I just need to know if the sav will try and eat him (seems too big to do so, but..)

Thanks

Don't combine both species as they are territorial. Basically they may get along for a short time but eventualy will inflict serious injurry! or even death! There is a strong point I will mention: Natural Bacteria within the mouth & saliva with different species may cause Infections even by one bite.
If you have the funds I suggest a cattle trough with mesh top, or very large Rubbermaid with same top. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Like I said, I know it's not ideal. I'm afraid I don't have the funds right now, or the space (one bedroom apartment). But, it's only for a few weeks, really. I'm fairly sure being a 20 won't seriously harm him, as I've got some UVB on him in there. It's too small, but...I think I might be able to fashion at least a basking cage for him out of something. God knows it's hot enough here right now that it might work fairly well...
