What kind do i have?

deviledapple Oct 20, 2004 11:25 PM

Its about 2-3 inches long, is a cream-ish tan colour, and has teeny tiny dark brown spots scattered in an organized type pattern (for lack of a better work...) on its shell, and around the edges on the back the spots start to sort of make a dual circular line around the shell. I have photos as well, but they are not of the best quality. I'm mainly trying to find out JUST how big this little beast will get, along with any other important care info for its specific breed!

Spiny Softshell.

If it is a male, 5" - 9½"; if a female, 6½" – 18" SCL.

Hey buddy doing good, new house, new job. Just bought a new 75 with three softies (2 Eastern Spinies and 1 Midland Smooth) I also have two channel catfish and a shortnose gar in with them. So how ya been? Any new turtles? My new email is chrisrsnyder@gmsnyder.com if you wanna get ahold of me. Peace Out, Chris

I've been good, I have still yet to get me a little hatchling softie, even though they only cost about $7 these days lol! Right now I have a hatchling ally snapper(very cool), Mississippi map turtle that went from nickel size to about 12 times that since December last year, a couple CB04 common snappers, red eared slider, a red belly turtle with no tail, and I have two little Loggerhead Musk turtles that are currently vactioning in Ohio because I can't provide heat for them overwinter. You still have your softshells in with those newts?
