I have a kingsnake once that ate a thermometer, she had to go to the vet and have it surgically removed. Probably a good idea to get it to your herp vet.

A minimal amount of wood chips will not adversely affect your snake, as such items are consumed on a regular basis in the wild.
Also, make certain you watch for a bowel movement and soak the specimen, should there seem to be a delay in the bowel movement. You may consider feeding your pet in a separate container, to avoid such incidents in the future.
