Marktrac Dec 06, 2004 02:02 PM

I hope I posted these pictures right. Can anyone tell me what type of rosy boas I have. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

The male looks like a mid baja rosy, maybe san felipe.

I agree with the other poster. Mid Baja, and most likely a San Felipe

Most likely not a San Felipe. While San Felipes are known to be nice looking I have seen many Bay of L.A's that rival the San Felipes, matter of fact I have seem better looking Bay of L.A.s than San Felipe's. Also the San Felipes can also be dogs as well. The Bay of L.A's are more common and usually when you pay for a San Felipe LOCALE you know you get a San Felipe locale. Locale specific animals are rarely mislabled or unlabled

My guess its a Bay of L.A.

Seeing the belly pattern would be a huge help. My guess would be San Matias. San Matias typically have that narrow dorsal stripe with those background and stripe colors. It also could be San Felipe. San Felipe is on only 40 miles south west of San Matias, so they look a lot alike. Can you post a pic of the belly?

I personally agree with your observation. Generally speaking, there is just a subtle difference, if any, between the two "locales." From the ones I've seen, the Matias usually seem to have slightly narrower striping, but not always. I kind of believe the two to really be the same boas. I've noticed far more difference in looks between Pioneertown animals that were observed 100 yards apart, than in Felipes/Matias. And soneone should tell Rainer to bring all his shoes and glasses, 'cause he can't see so good....LOL. A Bay of LA it defintely isn't.

She was sold to me as a coastal, this was before I knew there were many other types in this group. Thanks you to all who replyed.
