I recently put some more feeder fish in my tank to give to my ACF when a thought accurred to me, do ACF's know when to stop eating? or are they like fish and eat until they die? there are about ten in there...i'm a little concerned...

how many frogs do you have? what are their ages and sizes? i've got some huge ACF that will put down 10 feeders on their own, lol.
they wont eat until they die, they are a bit more evolved then fish, ha.
btw, NEVER use goldfish as feeders, they contain an enzyme that blocks the frog's ability to absorb vitimen B. minnows contain this enzyme as well but in a lower absorbation rate, so they can be fed sparingly with krill used at the next feeding. GUPPIES are the only safe feeder fish. i have a very detailed article regarding this issue, i will be happy to email it to anyone.
I'm a bit scepticle about such doomsday views regarding food items and am a fan on a varied diet. Can you please email me the mentioned article (editor@edmontonreptiles.com). Thanks
can you please send this to me as well? thanks. email(swiftpat@aol.com)

I went ahead and checked out your site afterwards and saw your reasoning for not feeding goldfish. I frequent the reg. frog board all the time and we have this discussion ALL the time about thiaminese. There are a few scientifically backed people who have their "stuff straight" (Im just a fellow herp lover but in no way claim to be scientifically backed) and they have proven studies that state the thiaminese is only present in significant levels in dead and frozen fish. The rosies are good but the goldfish are high in saturated fats and should be fed sparingly but still the thiaminese thing is not a prob. I'm not trying to contradict you or anything, email your study and I will see if I can get the other one for you. thanks... Jon

thanks, i'd love to see some more studies and information on thaimanise. i've only got one article that i recieved via email from another xenopus hobbiest. but either way, goldfish are nasty fish and half the time are so full of disease anyone would be crazy to stick them in their tank. i stick to a very varied diet of pelleted food, freeze dried and live guppies and ghost shrimp. i'll get that email out to you...
