What a beaut!
I have one, since 4th grade, an ACF that is,(now a highschool junior). I did some research today, and it says they need declorinated water, and heated tank, etc... but... mine has always been in room temp water (i have a cold house) with no just tap water... and he is fine, never got sick, and he croakes all night long (I guess he is a male?) He will eat from my hands and everything (tetra herp sticks and rosy reds)...
Do I havea a super Xenopus lol?
And he isn't albino, but apears a whiteish greyish. Is this a normal color? Thanks!

hi,
ACF are super hardy frogs
they are cool water frogs, and should only be kept at room temp. anything over 75F is asking for trouble. i have always dechlorniated my water for them, and any other reptile/amphibian i keep. (even my dogs get spring water, ha). as long as yours is healthy and happy then you are doing a great job!
sounds to me like you have a true albino. these frogs are white, where as golden or peach albinos are a pinkish yellow. i cant tell for sure unless i can see a pic though.
He definatley had melanism, just reduceded... maybe a hypo lol

he is probably just a pale grey frog then. their colors range on such a huge scale! i've had them from pale grey to dark black. with speckles to beautiful marbeling for patterning, and some wth no pattern at all. my piebald has no patterning. he's just a solid steel grey.
