Has Mark Oshea passed?

jasonw Jan 01, 2005 03:12 AM

It has been rumored that he passed do to being bitten by a venomous snake. Is this true? I did a search and I found nothing. I would think a name that big in the conservation field would at least be noted that he passed "assuming he did" Thanks in advance.

Mark O'Shea is alive and well.

Joe Slowinski (Associate Curator of Herpetology California Academy of Sciences) died Sept. 12, 2001 as a result of a bite from a Krait in Mynamar. He is the most recent Herpetologist that I'm aware of to die from snakebite.
