Crested genetics....

jmkhet Jan 11, 2005 04:52 PM

I have a question regarding crested geckos and their genetics. Now morphs such as creamsicles for instance...if cresteds are polymorphic, how can you breed for this particular morph or any other for that matter and hope to achieve it?Is it mostly chance? As well as selective breeding?Just curious, im used to boas. You breed an albino to an albino you get albinos you breed a creamsicle to a creamsicle what do you get? Thanks

The only thing you have to do is pick specimines that exibit the trait you are looking for.

Is it mostly chance?

Yes, but no lol......depending on what you mean. If you breed two flames together, you WILL get flames, but you can get many others as well......so there is where chance comes in.

Exactly!

Yeah it would be so much simpler if they were dominant/recessive.

I would say if yopu want more reponses than this i would go and ask in the rhac forum. These morph forums are dominated by snake keepers lol.
