Forgive my ignorance, but since there is so little info on these two snakes around, and everyone here uses only latin names, which is which?? Calligaster - is that the Prarie King? What's the Mole Kings latin name? Thanks a lot. I really love the oddball species, myself having an Eastern gets a lot of attention since the only kings kept in the local shops are California Kings, they really get excited when I walk in with my king.

There are 3 subspecies of Lampropeltis calligaster:

-Lampropeltis calligaster calligaster - Prairie Kingsnake
-Lampropeltis calligaster rhombomaculata - Mole Kingsnake
-Lampropeltis calligaster occipitolineata - South Florida Mole Kingsnake

A little clearer now?
