Please Help! My ADFs won't eat their bloodworms!

ChaunceyLove Jan 21, 2005 11:17 AM

I just bought two african dwarfs a few days ago and bought freeze dried bloodworms for them. I tried feeding them today but they couldn't seem to find the worms, since the worms were just floating at the top. They seem to know the worms are there, as they come out of hiding and look upwards, but they don't actually eat any of it. Even when they go up for air, they're nowhere near the worms.
Should I get something else that sinks, or is there a possible other reason they're not eating? I'm really worried they'll starve!
Thanks!

Try using frozen bloodworms (not freeze-dried), which will sink. Frozen brine shrimp (Artemia) are also very good.

your frogs might not be adjusted to their new home yet, which could be the cause for not finding the food. i think floating and sinking food does fine for these little guys. there are sinking aquatic pellets you can give them, frozen or dry bloodworms, many options of little food types at pet stores.
