HELP for equal food control!

froggiefantasy4 Jan 22, 2005 04:41 PM

i have 2 ADFs, a male and female which i keep in the same tank. since my female has been introduced to my male, i have realized that he seems to be losing weight. then just yesterday i checked on him and he was beyound underweight! he was also having seizure like jerks and would float on his side or back, and then swim off.. im very worried about him.. he is currently in a separate tank and i am doing my best to get him to eat. i have also seen my female continuously eating. what can i do to balance out the food amounts for the both of them?

you female my be gravid ( full of eggs), and females seem to eat more then males, since they are larger.

my male dwarfs were always very skinny (although not unhealthy) when compared to their plump, pear shaped females.

your male sounds to me like something internal is going on. a parasite or bacterial infection. not sure though...

i had a female who would always roll around on her back and side. she would even eat upside down! not sure what her problem was, but she lived for over 5 years just fine.
