Look at what I came home to find today!

I cooled my spotties and shortened the photo period to 6 hours a day for six weeks. I started to warm them and mix the sexes for a few hours a day on January 1. She is the first to lay in 05 but I have a clutch that was laid in December that should hatch any day! Enjoy,
Tom

Wayne, in general, 85% of all turtles lay at night time.

congrats!! I'm looking for a potential mate for my female DB to hopefully breed her, but i dont have much knowledge about breeding... What is the ideal water temp when you're trying to get your female receptive?

spottedturtleman Jan 26, 2005 04:57 PM

She started at 3pm and didn't finish untill midnight! I know that spotties breed at much lower temps than other turtles. They should hatch around st patties day I will keep it touch,
