Today, I got some earthworms (actually Canadian Nightcrawlers) for my Pac Man frog. Something new for him. He showed little interest so I decided to tangle one ine the tank that houses my ACF's, the bigger one came right up and "sniffed" it then YANKED the whole thing (it was big) out of my hand and shoved it all down his throat. Then I broke one to about 1/4 size and made sure that my smaller one got some. THEY LOVED 'UM.

I guess my question would be are these good for them? It was aslo cool because this was the first time both of them had eaten from my hand. I understand that I need to break them in 2 or 3 - I can't believe the bigger ACF ate one whole - WOW. Of course his belly is huge now. I feel kind of bad because his belly is so full.

SO ARE CANADIAN NIGHTCRAWLER OK FOR THEM???

The worms are a lot better for them then the fish most people feed their frogs.Just refrain from using worms from your yard.Chances are the ones you bought are free of pesticides since they were probably bred in captivity.

Forgot to add this is one of the things In my rotation for my ADF's (cut up of course). And yes even the little guys make pigs of themselves when nightcrawlers are involved.

I feed my female ACFs night crawlers and they LOVE them. Mine are big enough to eat the whole worm, sometimes a few, without a problem though. They sometimes will pull at each end until one wins and gets the worm. Its fun to watch. I have never had a problem with them eating the worms. They also eat goldfish, rosies, crickets, and a pinkie(only every couple of months). These frogs will eat anything.

Make sure the worms are healthy looking too. Plump, glossy looking, and not sticking together. You don't want to feed a sick worm to your frog. If you buy the worms in the containers containing a couple dozen then make sure you keep them refrigerated until you use them all. You should also feed them if you are keeping them for any length of time. I have not found a good gut loading food that they will eat yet.
