PIC of juvy western fence lizards

Paradon Feb 05, 2005 05:20 PM

Hey, all

These are two of the five juvy western fence lizards I have collected from the area in January. The one on the left is the one that eat most often (the others scrambled and when into hiding as approached to take this photo), and he is a male as I noticed brlliant blue under his belly and throat when compared to the others.

Oh, yes, they eat a lot everyday...especially the male on the right!!! I dust the small crickets (their primary food source which is gutloaded with finely crushed dog food which they love and are provided with a shallow dish of water) with calcium/vitamin D3 every other day and multivitamin twice a week.

Yes, I use 100 watt red bulb, undertank heater, and also flouresant lighting. They have very hardy appetite the fence lizards, which makes them good pet lizards for beginners IMO.
