Are the majority of emerald swifts in pet stores wildcaught? I've read that they need to have very specific temperatures in order to thermoregulate but no where did it say what these temperatures were. Also if you could give me links to any good caresheets I would appreciate it.

thanks

First I think many in stores are wild caught.

I do not use any heat on mine, BUT... and this is the only reason, I have my pair in a 65 gallon reptarium, in my reptile room. There are many ohter lights going for my other lizards.

The room stays in the upper 80's and they seem fine. I do use a reptisun 5.0 uvb light over top their cage. The key to these guys I believe is keeping them misted atleast 2 times a day.

When I first got an emerald over 5 yuears ago I kept the temps way up with a heat light, like the care sheets suggest, and I lost him fairly fast.

I think they dehydrate to quick in hot temps. I keep mine cooler and they thrive. Breed all the time.

This is all my opinion from my experiences and what I see with mine
