Pied spot Dumeril's boa

zoodude Apr 20, 2005 05:56 PM

Ok, this isn't a morph, but my 9 year old female dumeril's boa just shed and revealed a bunch of white (lacking pigment) spots. She didn't have these before and they are definitely not scars. Anybody ever seen this happen in mature snakes?

I had a savu python do that too. The spot got a little bigger with every shed and stopped at about the size of a dime. Unfortunaelty I could not get savu's to breed to save my life so I never worked on proving it.

I had a friend tell me that he had mature ball python do it as well. His vet assured him it was healthy otherwise. Was your savu an "older" snake?

Jerry Conway ("Mr.Candoia" has a snake that started off normal and is now 90% white. It also changed as an adult if I recall correctly.
