I need help identifying my rainbow lizard

moko Apr 30, 2005 04:28 PM

I came home today with a "rainbow lizard". I believe he is a plated lizard. He is well, rainbow colored. His head is blue, his body is red with blue dots and on his back is brown/green and his tail is green. He is a busy fellow and very strong, he does not bite. I was told he comes from the midwest. I am thinking they are fairly common because he was only ten bucks. He is one good looking lizard and we've named him He-Man. If I can figure out how to do the photo thing I will.

Thank to 7serpents on the skink forum, my He-man has been identified as a Tracheloptychuspetersi or commonly known as a Peter's Keeled Plated Lizard. My oldest son is named Peter-how nice!He is a Madagascan Plated Lizard. Wow!
