An Aggressive Baby Albino Prairie King.......

ThaDragonSlayer May 05, 2005 09:05 AM

I purchased a baby albino prairie kingsnake a few weeks ago( but not intentionally. Go to http://forums.kingsnake.com/view.php?id=777484,777484 for the full story). When my girlfriend attemted to handle it, the snake bit her ( she bled & you could actually see the teeth marks). & then it attempted to bite her again. This king is very aggressive. It tries to bite anytime its handled. Does anyone have any advice on how to tame an aggressive baby albino prairie kingsnake?

Great choice. Prairie kings make fantastic pets. They remind me of cornsnake personality in a kingsnake body with kingsnake burrowing habits.

About your hatchling.. give it time. Hatchlings can be like that. I have some, and they are mean little suckers. My yearling is as calm as can be. Heck, even baby cornsnakes can be mean (for a cornsnake.) Baby snakes are often aggressive. It is instinctive behavior for a little hatchling. Many things could make a meal of a baby snake.
