saw that at a pond I usually go to catch painteds and when I went to catch one after already catching one I wondered why it wasn't running as it was on the bank and I left it there and realized it was laying eggs. stood a couple feet away and watched her finish. Went back today and caught the biggest one I've seen in a long time.
