red foot pyrimiding

venom_2 May 31, 2005 11:15 AM

Quick question on red foots... is pyrimiding on the carapace scutes normal during any time during their growth. Specifically, this individual is about 6 in. long and has some pyrimiding. it is fed 3 times a week with osteoform during one of those feedings. should the osteoform supply be increased to help w/ the pyrimiding? thanks in advance.

While diet is very important, humidity is probably more important in preventing pyramiding. See REPTILES magazine back one or two issues, or scroll down this forum a ways.
