ADF: All the websites are full of it!

Ok, I bought 2 ADFs at the fair 5 years ago. (Hardly a "reputable breeder."

I kept them in a margarita glass with an aggressive beta. They stayed in my dorm room with the windows open all winter.

Last year, I was in a car wreck and my family forgot to feed them for TWO WEEKS. They were fine.

I kept them in an aquarium for a while. The fish kept dying. I never "washed the whole thing out."

And get this: I just moved them--in a MILKJUG--from Tennessee to Idaho. I must admit: When I was driving through Colorado the cold must have gotten to them and they went into hibernation. I thought they were dead.

They live in a vase now. (Hardly that one-gallon-per-frog BS.)

AND
-I've always fed them goldfish flakes.
-I always use tap water with dechlorinating drops.
-I've never had a lid on them. They've never jumped out.

You seem pretty proud not carring about your pets (family members). I could live in a closet my whole life as long as I was fed and given water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ACF's jump out often if there is not lid. ADF's however, given the right amount of space between the very top of the tank and the top of the water, are too small to jump out like that.
