Hello,

Does Mexican giant musk turtles (Staurotypus triporcatus) change a lot when they mature? The hatchlings and adults in this gallery look so different: http://www.chelonia.org/claudius_and_staurotypus_gallery.htm

And I also see some data using a different scientific name "Kinosternon integrum" on them, which is correct?

S. triporcatus do change as they mature. The hatchlings are marbled with white and black. The adult will retain the marbling on the head and legs but the carapace will become more brownish.
BUT, it is important to note that these animals along with Kinosternid turtles look VERY different when raised in captivity.
Wild caught animals will often appear dark and muddy with obscure pattern when compared to a nice, captive raised turtle.

Kinsosternon integrum is a Mexican mud turtle but not the same thing as a Staurotypus. You are not likely to ever see K. integrum offered for sale.

Thanks for your infomation. Actually I do see a K. integrum offered for sale, but he use the picture in the gallery I post (S. triporcatus hatchling). So I'm confused, is this a S. triporcatus or a K. integrum?

This a S. triporcatus.When it is a BB,it is almost black all.With the time going ,the carapace will become white or brown~,but the black will remain

Not an integrum.
I REALLY doubt that any real Kinosternon integrum are offered for sale.
