Need Help Taking Care of Clawed African Frogs

colorfulcritters Aug 28, 2005 09:37 PM

In a nutshell, I don't know what to feed them. Actually, my step-dad bought them and thinks they can survive off of whatever's in the tank. What do you feed these little fellas?

What else is in the tank? As your african clawed frogs grow, they will feed on some of the fish that may be present. I've had success with feeding them floating newt food, and when larger, trout chow. Feeding a variety is always a good idea and having a few guppies for somthing to chase/eat is very healthy for your frogs. Freeze dried and/or alive small shrimp, tubifex worms, blood worms and earthworms of appropriate sizes can all be fed.

Good luck with your frogs !
