"Ghost" Spiny Softshell

TurtlesRGwen Sep 06, 2005 06:26 PM

Hello, we have just had an unusual turtle hatch out and I would appreciate some information. The turtle is a hatchling spiny softshell, but the skin appears almost clear, or at least off-white. It doesn't have any of the usual brown color. I have heard terms like Hypo and Albino and Leucistic, but I don't know the stipulations for each. I would appreciate any information you could share.
Thanks!

albinos usually have oranges, reds, yellows, basically anything but black/brown type colors. leucistica are ususally all white with black/blue eyes depending on exactly what type of animal it is, im not sure on turtles. hypomelanistic is hypo(less) or no and melanineb(black pigment). what color are its eyes? there are so many other morphs of things like leopard geckos and cornsnakes. literally dozens. a photo would help too.
