Temperatures for Florida Softshell

ariana9115 Oct 05, 2005 05:48 PM

I tested the temps in my aquarium and found the air and water temp to be 79 F. Should the basking area be warmer? I have access to a heating light for reptiles, would that work?
Thanks

there should be a warm basking area, even though softies arent the most apt to use it. even my snapper comes out and basks every once in a while. that water temp sounds fine so just provide the full spectrum lighting over the whole tank and a heat lamp on the basking area.
