my solomon island boa paulsoni finally shed

janome Oct 14, 2005 07:49 PM

i had her out the other night and wet her down since her eyes cleared and she hadn't shed yet. when i put her back in her tank her old skin started to come off in my hands. all except her head. will this effect her at all? i hope she is able to shed her head by herself. thanks.

Congrats,

I would try to keep humidity 75% for a couple days and put something in the enclosure to help her shed (rock/branch)

Also, always have a large enough water disk for soaking!!

Good Luck

thanks for reply. she does have a branch in her tank and also a big enough water dish to soak in. i did get her back out tonight and wet her head a bit and was able to get the rest of the shed off although she didn't like it. tried to bite. i saw her soaking once when i first got her but haven't seen her soak since. i've read candoia love to soak. i guess she hasn't read the caresheet. i misted her tank when she was cloudy but i guess it wasn't enough. i'll know next time what to expect.
