japanese wood turtle care?

hi im was wondering what care is needed for japanese wood turtles. do they have special needs? cage size? their adult size? anything will help

No special needs or care. Keep them moderately warm. They are generic "shallow water" aquatics. Feed a balanced prepared food, such as Mazuri or Reptomin with live food treats.

"Turtles Of the World" says 18.2 cm, but this would be quite large for an M. japonica. Figure about 4 inches and a 20 gallon tank would be generous. Personally, I use the big plastic storage containers that are much easier to move and clean. They are a neat and moderately hardy Asian turtle.
