Seasonal Behavioral Change?

jhworley Oct 18, 2005 10:50 PM

Has anyone else noticed that their painted is sleeping alot more? Or digging out a nest in the gravel or soil in the bottom of the tank? I'm positive he is doing this because of the change of seasons... maybe its barometric pressure or something that triggers this.

Let me know what your painted is doing...

It may be lighting changes, they will notice the days getting shorter if they don't have artificial lighting 12 on 12 off.
My painted is a CB, he's never changed his behavior at any time of the year. I don't think he has a clue about seasons.

Lighting cant be the issue. He has artificial lighting all day... I have it set on a timer, so it turns on and off at the same time every day. He is a younger painted though, and that might have something to do with it.
