Need help about Gaboon Viper Caging...

kaouthiakeeper Oct 19, 2005 10:29 PM

Hello,

I am planning to get three 04' gaboon vipers for a future breeding project and I am planning to house them together until they reach the breeding age. What kind of caging would be suitable for this purpose and where can I buy one?

Thanks,

Gica

Hi:

I will answer your question but first this comment.

WHY breed Large Bitis species (Puffs, Gabbies, Rhinos)? The market is flooded with these species. Why not pick a species that is not available in excess to breed?

I use Vision 400's for my large Bitis, none of which I plan to breed. Plenty of room for them to move if they are so inclined and it gives me some room to work safely around them.

Other cages I use or suggest you check out are Precisioncages.com or www.monster-cages.com. These are good sturdy cages for these monsters.

Thanks for your response Al.

I am going to try big bitis for starters but I may try some small ones in the future, too. Its just a matter of choice.

Take care

Gica
