Show rosy boa's...

Ric Blair Oct 25, 2005 11:23 PM

I guess I am still learning. The rosy boas I thought were snows are actually albino's. They sure did take on a lot of orange later. Not a big dissapointment for me. I will get one someday through breeding or from my good friends down there in Cali. It sure was interesting to talk about, and I did learn quite abit. Thanks for all those who responded to the earlier post. You sure are a great group of people to be associated with. Thanks....Ric Blair

One of these days, someone's going to turn these reptile expos into dog-type shows (I know the S.D. show had a small event within their expo several years back)....
Anyways - got any current pics of them? They were interesting looking.
Cheers,
Max

that is a good idea Max. But because there would be so many categories it would be hard to find well rounded judges that are unbiased. Most rosy freaks breed and sell rosys, pit people have pits, dry people have Drymarchon and so on and so on..

Yeah,
I've thought about it for years - Somebody has already started a cornsnake registry - I don't think it has gone over really well yet though...
It'd really be a matter of getting organized.
I think some of the newer people (not hard-core herpers) getting into ball pythons, & such, would be a good starting point.
It'll happen eventually.
Can you imagine when people start breeding snakes with defects like some of the bubble-eyed goldfish & bulldogs?
I one time hatched out an albino Sonoran gopher wth no eyes - then it opened its mouth; the eyes were inside!

Hope you didn't freeze Mr inside-out. All you had to do is turn it rite-side-in.
