common name is Striped Water Dragon. That's a good find, you don't seen them in the trade as much. There are many reptile importers in florida that lost their stock durring the many hurricanes of late. Florida is going to end up being a environmental nightmare. Not much is being said about it now, but just wait until people start finding populations of Mambas or king cobras

Tell me about it, it took ages to ID him, nobody knew what he was, even the shop I bought him in. He didn't make it unfortunately, the pet shop had been keeping him as a bearded dragon for several months before I got my hands on him.

If you search Amphibolurus temporalis you will probably find much more info....very common in Northern Australia. The specimen you have there appears to be a Male.

Keep them warm with the humidity reasoanbly high otherwise you may encounter sloughing problems.

Apparently a synonym, its tough to identify a lizard when even the scientific name is under constant revision, here are all the synonym for this lizard:

They all refer to the same lizard correct? I take your word for the fact that Amphibolurus temporalis is the latest and greatest.
