I have NEVER had this happen!

Stryder Nov 15, 2005 03:44 PM

I have had snakes for over 30 years, and I have NEVER had this happen. Not ever had an escape!

OK, so I was in a hurry. Had company. Wanted to finnish cleaning all my cages. Got everything in order.

I go in this morning, and there is an empty cage. I didn't latch the latch on Samson's cage well enough. I go digging about looking for him, and I find a python that I didn't even know was missing. (I don't know how he got out. His cage was still closed, and he has a couple scrs where he looks like he pinched himself.

No sign of Samson the corn snake. I don't even know where to look. My kids are gonna be mad!! I don't know if he coulda squeezed out under the door of the snake room into the house. Or maybe he got back into the crawl space.....

Two snakes in one day!! I am such a bad mom!! How do you find a lost snake in a carpeted room?

Well, I found him pretty much where I suspected that he might be. I just caught his tail end as he slithered under the big snake tank. I couldn't pull him out. I was afraid of hurting him.

Now I just gotta think of somebody I know who is not deathly afraid of snakes to come help me lift this heavy melamine cage so I can get him out.

Anybody?
