Gold Dust Day Gecko Sick?

KaylaGDDG Nov 24, 2005 08:45 PM

My gold dust day gecko has two large lumps on each side of her neck. Can anyone offer some suggestions as to what is wrong with her? She has been slow to move, not eating, and somedays barely moving. I am trying to find a reptile vet in the area but until then, any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks!

To help you in your search for a vet.

Begin with calling for referals from local vet clinics.
Also check out www.arav.com
then check out their link to herpvetconnect for a less formal herp vet listing.

The lumps you mentioned can be anything from normal chalk/calcium sacs to ear abscesses. If your gecko is acting sick, then for whatever reason, lumps or no lumps, you are on the right track looking for a vet.

In the mean time, reassess your husbandry and make sure it's optimal. Use thermometers and hygrometers to measure, not guess, and you'll be in the right direction.
