Do you breed your own mice/rats jetzen? With all those snakes you must be ordering BULK from rodentpro if not breeding. Just wondering.

I usually have 10-18 trios of working breeder mice producing for me

but that is'nt enough

so i have friends in the mouse biz 5 mins. away, who let me go over and handpick any size/quanity, then i pick them up the next day frozen/vacumed packed

Man those mice are big, I guess because there swiss webs like you said but still they look like rats. Mice stink to much, have you ever tried rats jetzen? Do they stink as much or is it on a lower level like everyone says.

fancy-X-crosses they don't get near as big as the SW's my supplier grows.
Years ago when i kept Lg. boids rats was all i did, now days i just do mice, i've found that a 4-6 ft colubrid does fine on 2-3 jumbo mice per week.
Rat pups and small rats are great for colubrids and they don't smell as bad, but they require more sq. area and eat much more than mice.

Thanks jetzen, no wonder why your mice look so nice. I kind of figured they were crosses, it's a shame you feed them but ya do what you gotta do lol. I figure your mice just keep breeding when there not feeding with a cage like that. I'm going to use rats on my larger boids but have never kept them but 1 thing I learned is to keep it simple, mice will get pre occupied with things like paper towel tubes, wheels other toys. Well anyway thanks for answering my question guess I'll have to decide on my own on the smell factor, but if you say they smell less then I'll take your word for it.
