Caught this by accident while fishing, what kind of turtle is it?

nimmerfroh Nov 26, 2005 10:43 PM

It's the only picture I got before it scooted off the pier and dove back into the water. I caught it in Florida on the bottom of a fresh water river with some dead shrimp. It's hard to judge the size from the pic but it's almost a foot long, has a real pointed nose, and its shell is flattened around the edge. Does anyone know what kind of turtle this is?

Thanks,

Fred
