im looking into getting into breeding various reptiles within the next few years so until then, its research time. all the genetic talk gets a lil overwhelming and im looking for a book that would help break it down for me. if any of you know of a good book, please let me know. i appreciate it, and wish me luck! thanks.

I like Elrod & Stansfield's book, Schaum's Introduction to Genetics, 4th ed., 2002. It isn't perfect; among other things, they changed the definition of "codominant" from the third edition, which I have. However, I like the problem oriented format. Paperback copies in good condition can be purchased for less than $10. There are other good genetics books, but most of them cost a little to a lot more.
