I just found Melkor laying on the bottom of his tank. He's dead... He honestly looks fine but he's not moving and is stif as a board. He wil be missed.

sorry to hear about your satanic man.
i kept a few a couple of years back and they'd seem to do perfectly fine and 6 months later would just up and die for no apparent reason
i look forward to getting some more when i have a bit more time to dedicate to them.

dont sweat it man. different uroplatus can die suddenly and unexpectedly for any of us. i just recently lost a LTC corkbark ive had for over a year and a half....the entire time trying so hard to get some breeding action.
and why does she die?
egg-bound.
you just gotta keep your head up and stick out the rough times when stuff like this happens, otherwise you're destined to fail.

It really freaks ya out when you find them like this, not knowing why! But like Mike says its tough, and makes ya feel real bad, but don't give up, it happens.
Remember I waited almost 1 1/2 years for eggs, and then waited almost 6 months for them to hatch, finally opened them only to find 2 fully developed dead kids , and the rest of the eggs nothing inside but junk.
It sometimes is a major BUMMER , but sometimes so exciting, these awesome creatures are worth it.
