Power fed males can be ready at two but three is the norm.
I had a 1-1/2 year old pair of cottonwoods produce for me, so if they can they will. They weren't power fed, but fed regular once to twice a week. I kept them together, and they produced. I wasn't expecting, or trying to breed them at all. Rare occurance I guess.
Thanks for the info:
One final question:
Is the brumation phase as important... or necessary at all for the effectiveness of male breeders?
Richard
My brumation temps are on the high side I guess, low sixty's.
To answer your question I believe it is.
I believe it as well... Thanks
Never seen any literature about it
Richard
