here are a couple quick shots of the cb henkeli i got last month. still workin on their new cage, and it's almost finished. so when i'm done i'll try to get some more 'natural' ones
here's both of them, sitting on the juvie crested gecko rack.

here's the female

eye shot of the female

i'll try to take some more time and get some better ones when their actually colored up.
thanks for looking

I just had to compliment you on your henkels. They are absolutely gorgeous. I have a special attachment to the henkels even though I think all of the species of uroplatus are amazing creatures. I can't believe that is them NOT colored up; they look great. I have 1.3 henkels and I sure wish I could get an eye picture like that of mine. What a neat pic! Thanks for sharing.

hey, thanks for the compliment jess
have you worked with any other uroplatus?
as soon as you get different species i'm sure you will like them all!
they're all neat in their own ways.
here's one of my female sikorae.

i think one of the coolest things about the henkeli and fimbriatus is how far off of the eye the lense looks like it is. that and their size

Geckos_R_Me Dec 26, 2005 01:33 AM

I've worked with the lineatus and the pietschmanni as well and both are very neat as well but there is just something about the henkels that gets me. It might have something to do with their size and that they remind me of miniature alligators.

thanks eve, did you see those dalmation cresteds randy may of neoscales posted in the classifieds awhile back? i thought you of all people would scoop them up

PHEve Dec 28, 2005 01:08 AM

dalmations, even though I still worry about their tails,

I'm trying to create space around here so I can purchase a female for my male Panther chameleon. Have to many things going on to get into another species of gorgeous gecko (cresties) right now.

Just had some agama eggs layed, Also getting all my pretty collareds ready for brumation, am purchasing another one of them(female juvey collared) as a mate for a cool male I already have. Just LOTS going on Flame. But I think the dalmations are the cutest!

Do you breed them?

eve, they are the easiest things in the world to breed. i hatched out 32 eggs from my two breeder females since last year, and this year i should have 11 breeder females, and a lot more color/patterns. i think what makes them the most interesting is the variety of patterns, and you never really know what the offspring is going to look like. i feed mine almost exclusively on crested gecko diet which i've been feeding about 50 cresteds for 6 months on 35 dollars worth and still have about 25% left in the tub.
they're in relatively high demand, so you still get 25-40 dollars for plain, and anything on up depending on color/pattern etc.
email me if you have anymore questions or want to get started off with some.

i'm in high hopes that the funding from my cresteds will be able to allow me to get a lot more rhacodactylus geckos, and hopefully atleast a pair or trio of most of the uroplatus geckos. there are many other species i want to get into as well, but i've got to pace myself
