Just look at the El Rosario on my web-sight. El Rosario's are the redest in my opinion.

I think it was Blue rosy was telling me about some Rosys that had Blood Red dorsal stripe quite a few years back. Have you heard this?

hey Sighthunter,
What rosy is that in your last post..?, it looks "washed or faded", like anerythristic. neat looking.
jeff teel
I should not have said "anerythristic" in my lost to describe that rosy. To me, any anerythristic animal would be white where the red-orange-yellow pigment is. but imagine a rosy with the slate grey-blue back ground and white jagged stripes, wow. peace,
jeff
I may have one of those. I'll take more pics.

I have three like that. I think they are anery?

The El Rosario pictured here is more red than any boa I have. I had a pair of Hemet boa's that would throw some real nice deep red offspring in the past. Kinda wish I hadn't given up that pair, oh well.
I agree that the El Rosarios are the most red of all the rosy boas. I have a pair of El Rosarios from Don Wilson stock of Seven Generations. They have nice dark red color and a blueish/gray backround. Im hoping they will throw some wide stripe babies. Jerry Hartley and Tim Turmezi have some of the nicest El Rosarios around IMO.

Thanx everyone. Keep the pics coming.....

These ones often exhibit a nice orange/red coppery color.

Is that gravid or did it eat a rabbit!

In all the excitement and confusion, she barfed up a young rabbit. Looked like she kept a few. San Gabriel Mts.
That is too cool.....

The rosys with the blood red stripes you are referring to are crossed locale rosys. I have not seen any in 17-18 years but they are a result from a coastal x triv triv. Then you raise the babies up and breed them back together. This second gen (F2) will produce the blood red stripes. The first gen will not.
The blood red striped ones were real common back then. I have no idea what happened to them.
Do my El Arco I posted look like hybrids to you? Are those the ones you are talking about? See my post under El Arco.
-----
No. The blood red striped ones looked nothing like that. They had a yellow backround from the triv and blood red stripes on top with darker side stripes that looked like dried blood on the side. I got them from Ralp Crouch in Long Beach Calif. He had a pair of triv x coastals that were first gen and it was only the second gen that looked really cool like this. You won't get this look from a first gen cross. It only happens after you raise the crossed locales up and bred them back (brother and sister) together again.
I was talking about when they are bred to eachother.

Something like this?
