My Copperhead smells very bad, why ?

Hello, I have two juvenile agkistrodon contortrix. One smells very bad, the other doesn´t. is it common? why does it smell so bad? Regards.

It sounds like one of them is musking when you approach it; it has a very distinctive (BAD) odor that takes quite a while to dissipate. You can ease this a bit by providing plenty of security and disturbing this snake as little as possible. When you do have to clean the cage, take it outside, or, in an area where it doesn't fumugate the house.

Sorry,I don´t understand your reply perfectly, because my English is very bad. However, I interpret you want to mean the snake expels this odor as a defense system ( like heterodon nasicus). is it ok? Thank you. Regards.
