plz help quickly ( I have some simple terrarium set questions)

1st question: Whats the consequences of having sand as substrate?

2nd: Is there any problem of having the infrared lamp on at night?

1) Sand will cause intestinal impaction if ingested by Anoles. This is a usually fatal condition. Something digestible like organic compost or organic potting soil (without Perlite or fertilizers) is much better.

2) In a normally heated house, additional nighttime heating is not required. Anoles do quite well with nighttime temperatures in the 60's.
