What is the least expensive and easiest to take care of day gecko species? I was thinking about maybe getting some.

Thanks
Mike

Hello Viper9:
There are two species that stand out as the best of the group for ease of care and breeding If you like larger lizards the Grandis Day Gecko (Phelsuma madagascariensis grandis) would be the best choice. They are large robust lizards with nice contrasting colors of varyingdegrees of red on a bright green background. They are very hardy and easy to breed.
The other species is much smaller but strikingly colorful. The Gold-Dust Day Gecko (Phelsuma laticauda laticauda) is about half the size but are very colorful with reds, golds, greens, and blues. They are equally hardy and probably the easiest species to breed and raise.
Hope this info helps. Have a Great day!!!
