iv been thinking about getting some "dwarf frogs" (thats what th ere sold as) and i was wondering a few things. im not knew to reptile or amphibian keeping, i just wondered if someone knew more about these guys. what species are they usually (the little 1 inch guys sold alongside fish) latin name?
also anyone know anything about breeding them? iv heard everything from water clarity changes to hormone injection, but it would be neat to try. also what about ph, nitrite and ammonia levels and all that jazz, how do you make them thrive?

You are talking about African dwarf frogs (genus Hymenochirus). There is really no telling exactly what species you are looking at, but it is probably Hymenochirus boettgeri. This is the most common species on the pet trade.
I don't know about breeding. Not many people breed them, because they are so readily available from large-scale commercial breeders in the United States and other parts of the world. You can look up breeding information and other stuff on the web.
To answer most of your other questions, here is a link to a caresheet that I have written:

It is the last reply on the page. I'm sorry I don't have it posted in a more formal place right now. I will soon.
