I only questioned that because I have seen a Tetra product that looks like it was made from molded fiberglass. This one in particular looks like a bridge of some sort but the surface is very hard and somewhat rough. I don't know it these factors in themselves would contribute to shell rot or abrasions though.

But for me, I would rather play it safe.
