I am new to the breeding part of having cal kings snakes and when, I put my male in with my female the bread but when the where done breeding my female tried to eat my male, is this common? Luckily I was watching them and carefully so got her off him, before she could eat him.
Also with a different pair of cal kings the male was biting at the female but it was not to eat her but more to hold it in place is that common?
How long do I need to wait before I breed the males to other snakes and should I put the males back with the female more then once?
